Data we collect
- Contact details you submit (name, email, phone if provided, message content, preferred dates, engagement interest)
- Technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited when analytics cookies are accepted
- Client engagement records required to perform audits (business contacts, roles, and correspondence)
Purposes
We use personal data to respond to enquiries, prepare estimates, deliver contracted audit work, improve site usability when analytics are consented, and meet legal record-keeping duties.
Legal bases
Depending on the context, we rely on your consent (cookies and optional marketing), performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps, and legitimate interests in operating a professional practice, balanced against your rights.
Retention
Enquiry messages are kept up to 24 months unless a client relationship begins. Engagement records are retained for at least seven years or longer when professional or tax rules require. Analytics data, when collected, is retained in aggregated form according to the analytics provider’s settings, typically no longer than 26 months.
Processors and transfers
We may use hosting, email, and analytics providers. Where data leaves Taiwan, we seek appropriate contractual safeguards and disclose the transfer on request. Client source documents are handled under engagement confidentiality terms.
Your rights
Subject to Taiwanese personal data protection law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing, and you may withdraw cookie consent at any time. Contact hello@smartdatalab.digital. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent authority in Taiwan.
Children
Our services are directed to business professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
